My Journey:

My life has been an empowerment bootcamp of sorts. Several times I have moved to places where I knew no one, where I had no job waiting for me, and/or sometimes where I could barely speak the language. I was searching for that place that I could call home but instead (eventually) found a space inside myself that was home no matter where I was. Through my experiences I have learned about who I am and how to find my strength, my voice, and a way through any kind of obstacle. Life experiences are my greatest teachers and have helped me learn the truth about who I am and how to express this truth authentically, without hesitation, under any circumstances.

I have struggled most of my life with trying to find a balance between sensible activities and my true desires/dreams. Frequently, the sensible side won. Either from external pressure from family and society or from a fear in myself that I didn't have it in me to do something big, I caved and chose the sensible option. If I did pull through and take a stand, I would do it with a big side order of sensible. This would result in me feeling very out of tune with myself and miserable because all of the things I loved about what I was doing were lost to the chaos I was creating by trying so hard to be sensible.

The more I tried to put myself in a box (even though it was only in my own mind), the more I misbehaved, acted out in selfish ways, and treated myself with disrespect. Through my experiences, I slowly began to realize that the more in line I felt with my true nature, the happier I was, the more time and energy I had to spend quality time with myself and the people I cared about, and the more I was able to nurture feelings of self-respect and self-confidence.

My Professional Background:

I obtained a BA in Japanese Language and Literature. This opened many doors for experiences that I could not have ancitipated and literally took me around the world and back again. I have lived and worked in Japan, worked for Japanese companies in NYC, and still enjoy studying the language and culture of Japan. I have experience working for major corporations, non-profit organizations large and small, and in an academic setting.

I received my coaching certification from the International Coach Academy, an accredited training provider with the International Coach Federation. Throughout my life, I have assisted many people on their own journeys, fighting their own battles, working through their own stuff. I helped them find strength in themselves and a heightened awareness of their own role in their success and/or struggles. Being part of someone's empowerment process is an honor. We are all wonderfully unique and have immense inherent value and beauty. I find so much joy in seeing an individual find strength in themselves and catch a glimpse of how truly amazing they are. I am eternally grateful for the opportunity to work with each of my coaching clients.

My Here and Now:

I currently reside in Colorado with my soul mate/husband/best friend, Caleb and our faithful, furry companions Sam and Kitty(in spirit). We enjoy the natural beauty here and the simplicity of our life in the country. I have a rediculously wonderful view of the Rocky Mountains from my office and the numerous birds outside my window keep me well entertained when my dog isn't chasing them away. I practice Kriya Yoga Meditation and truly know in my heart that everything is absolutely perfectly perfect in each and every moment, including you and me, even when we can't quite see it as such.
